上班的 第一件事，要打開窗(windowing )戶還是先開冷氣呢？
根據哈佛等校的 聯合研究（research)《辦公室強化通風系統的 經濟、環境與健康影響》，將辦公室的 通風率提高，對于員工的 工作效率(efficiency)及健康皆有顯著提升的 效果。
將通風率提高兩倍后，員工的 決策表現提高了8%，這相當于每位員工每年可以多創造6500美元(USD)的 產值。同時也明顯的 提升了員工的 工作效率(efficiency)。辦公室通風除了為員工帶來新鮮空氣之外，也能減少辦公環境中揮發性有機化合物的 濃度，經由呼吸道傳染的 病菌（fungus)，因此，員工請病假的 機率也降低（reduce)了。
藉由開啟氣窗進行自然通風的 方式，相較于主動式的 通風設備來說成本低，又能帶來有效的 換氣效果。
在韓國近畿道的 一家電源供應機公司，為了解決辦公室長年來通風不佳的 情況，將辦公室氣窗全面改裝為電動開窗(windowing )機。
辦公室的 窗戶區分出三個區段，上方為利用電動百葉窗作為氣窗，可排出室內的 熱空氣，下方的 外推式窗戶，可引進涼爽的 冷空氣，而中間的 玻璃窗，則可讓室內享有良好採光。
